Profile

The endocrinology & diabetology sector was established in 1995 at the hospital Klinikum Dortmund under the supervision of Dr. med. Frank Demtröder. In 1996 this specialist area for internal medicine was extended to include an endocrinological outpatients’ department. The growing number of patients with hormonal related diseases soon signalised the urgent need for an endocrinological centre with extended diagnostics and a therapeutic services spectrum.

The Centre for Endocrinology, Diabetology, Rheumatology Dr. Demtröder & Colleagues (professional association MVZ Dr. Eberhard & Partner Dortmund), founded in 2007, can today diagnose and treat the entire spectrum of hormonal diseases.

Since August 2011 patients with rheumatic diseases can also be treated. In addition to outpatient diagnostics and therapy inpatient, rheumatology patients can be cared for in Dortmund Hospital in a conciliatory capacity. Rheumatological diseases are treated by Dr. med. F. Moos and Dr. med. T. Fassbinder, specialists in internal medicine and rheumatology.

Because of the medical laboratory expertise of the Laboratory Medicine at MVZ Dr. Eberhard & Partner it is possible to conduct differentiated laboratory medical staged diagnostics of complex symptoms from one single source.

Specific genetic issues arising from hormonal diseases can also be clarified directly within our MVZ because of the affiliation with the department Medical Genetics at the MVZ directed by Dr. med. Schwan, Dr. med. Schön,
Dr. med. Koetting.

The Hormone Centre for Children and Adolescents Prof. Dr. Richter-Unruh, Dr. Schuster & Colleagues provides comprehensive support in the treatment of children and adolescents with endocrinological diseases.

The MVZ cooperates with the doctors to whom the patients have been referred and from whom they are receiving further treatment. Based on established structures intensive cooperation is also possible in the case of inpatient care in the Klinikum Dortmund.
